Neo-Capital vs Xero

No entry-plan limits, several businesses on one subscription, and an ownership option Xero doesn't have.

Xero is well-built software with a real ledger, and its accountant community is strong, particularly outside the US. Its trade-off is the plan ladder: the $25 entry plan caps how many invoices and bills you can send in a month, so a business with ordinary volume is pushed to $55, and every separate business needs its own subscription.

Neo-Capital's entry plan has no invoice or bill caps, the mid plan covers a business book and three people, with more business books at $9 a month, and the whole platform is also available as Neo-Capital Desktop, a one-time purchase from $49 that ends the subscription question entirely. Same class of engine: general ledger, A/R and A/P, reconciliation, close, every statement, cash or accrual.

Where Xero is genuinely strong

Polish and reach. Xero's interface is clean, its app marketplace is large, its payroll partnerships are mature, and outside the United States, especially in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, its accountant network and bank coverage are excellent. If your accountant runs a Xero practice abroad, that gravity matters.

Where Neo-Capital wins

Limits and ownership. Nothing on the entry plan is metered, one subscription carries several businesses, US sales-tax nexus is watched across 51 jurisdictions, and the Desktop line offers something Xero has never sold: accounting software you own outright. Books are encrypted under your key either way, and leaving comes with your data and a free desktop licence.

Switching from Xero

Export your Xero data (contacts, chart of accounts, and transaction CSVs) and Neo-Capital's import pipeline brings them into the review queue, where everything lands categorized and nothing posts without your approval. Most migrations are producing statements the same week.
