Choose the tier that fits your business
Neo-Capital Desktop is a program you download, install and keep. Your books are saved on your computer, and the program only goes online when you activate a key or use an online feature. If you want to connect to the cloud, you can add Connected, an optional subscription of $15 a month on Basic, $22 on Pro or $35 on Firm, or pay yearly and get two months free. Connected lets you use your books in a web browser and the mobile app, adds Plaid bank feeds, and lets you invite other people into your books. Without Connected, you can link your bank through SimpleFIN for about $15 a year, paid to SimpleFIN.
You can upgrade at any time by entering a new key. To see every feature by tier, compare Basic, Pro and Firm.

Full accountingsoftware that runson your computer

Neo-Capital Desktop runs on your computer and does the accounting your CPA expects. It includes the general ledger, every financial statement, inventory, fixed assets and sales tax. Customers can pay your invoices online with Get Paid, and you can add Connected later if you want to use your books online.
A general ledger on your computer
Every transaction posts as balanced debits and credits. Each account has a register like the one in QuickBooks, showing each line's split, running balance and cleared status. You get a numbered chart of accounts with sub-accounts. Bank reconciliation checks your books against the statement's ending balance and then locks that period.
Registers, journal entries and the audit trail are included in Pro and Firm. Bank reconciliation is included in every tier.
Download
Choose Windows or macOS and download the installer. You need a free account to download, but no credit card.

Connected is an optional subscription that links your Desktop books to the Neo-Capital cloud. It adds Plaid bank feeds, lets you open your books on other computers, in a web browser and in the mobile app, and lets you invite other people with roles. The people you invite do not need their own subscription or license. It costs $15 a month on Basic, $22 on Pro and $35 on Firm. You can also pay yearly: $150, $220 or $350 a year, which is two months free. If you cancel, you keep the software and your books stay on your computer.
Bank feeds with Plaid
Connect your bank and credit card accounts through Plaid at no extra cost. New transactions come in automatically while the program is open, and nothing posts until you approve it.
Connections & Integrations
Connect your bank, payment processors, online stores and payroll, and their deposits sync to Neo-Capital. Each deposit is split into sales, fees, refunds and taxes and posted to the right accounts. On Desktop, all of these except Plaid bank feeds work without a Connected subscription.
Connect your bank without a subscription
Link your banks and cards through SimpleFIN, which costs about $15 a year, paid to SimpleFIN. New transactions come in when you click Sync now. You can also upload a bank statement as a CSV, OFX or PDF file. Either way, your rules suggest categories, and the transactions wait in review until you approve them.
Plaid bank feeds are included with Connected.

We are herewhen you need it

You get support from real people when you own Desktop. You can open a support ticket from inside the program, and our website has a user manual, a help center and a live tour.
Support from real people
If something is not working, open a ticket from the Help menu in the program, and a member of our team will answer. You do not need a subscription. We reply by email, and if you have Connected, the whole conversation is also kept in one thread in the program and on your account page.
Migrate from QuickBooks or another program
Neo-Capital imports the export files from QuickBooks, Xero, Wave and FreshBooks, and it explains each step as it goes. You can see everything that was imported, and Neo-Capital checks that your balances match your old program.
Upload the export files from your old program: your chart of accounts, contacts, general ledger and trial balance.

Questions, answered.
Where does my data live?
On your computer. Each business's books are their own SQLite database, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Neo-Capital on Windows or ~/Library/Application Support/Neo-Capital on a Mac, or in any folder you choose under Business details, Data location. Nothing is uploaded unless you turn on Connected. The program backs up your books every day and keeps the last ten backups. You can also click Back up now at any time, and you can copy backups to an external drive or a cloud folder you already use.
Do I need an AI subscription?
No. Everything works without AI, including the books, reports and tax tools. If you want AI, you can add your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini key. The key is kept in your computer's keychain, your provider bills you directly, and we add nothing. You can also connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex or any other MCP client to the books on your computer. Neo-Capital AI works without your own key. It is a paid add-on that starts at $19 a month and requires Connected.
How is this different from QuickBooks or other accounting subscriptions?
QuickBooks Online is a subscription that costs $38 to $340 a month for as long as you use it, and your books are stored on its servers. Neo-Capital Desktop is a one-time purchase starting at $49, and it runs on your computer, so your books are files you own. If you want to connect to the cloud, you can add Connected ($15 to $35 a month) to use your books in a web browser or the mobile app, or to share them with your team.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every download includes a free 14-day trial, and no credit card is required. When you start, you choose Basic or Pro, and you can switch during the trial. A banner shows how many days are left. When the trial ends, the program shows the activation screen until you enter a license key. Your books are not deleted, and you can keep working as soon as you enter a key.
Can it connect to my bank?
Yes. Link your accounts at SimpleFIN, which costs about $15 a year, paid to SimpleFIN. Then paste SimpleFIN's one-time setup token into Neo-Capital and click Sync now when you want your latest transactions. Your bank login stays with SimpleFIN and is never entered in Neo-Capital. Syncing does not duplicate transactions you already imported from statements. If you have Connected, you can use Plaid bank feeds instead at no extra cost. You can also skip bank connections and import statements.
What banks does it support?
SimpleFIN supports most US banks and credit unions. For statements, any bank works: upload a CSV, OFX, QFX or PDF file. PDF statements are read by a general statement reader, with dedicated readers for Bank of America and Citi cards. The reader checks its work against the statement's balance or total, and it rejects a statement that does not add up instead of guessing. Neo-Capital includes category rules for your industry, and you can add your own rules.
Does it work for my industry?
During setup, you choose your industry from 80 industries in 14 sectors. Neo-Capital then sets up a chart of accounts and category rules for that industry. The list includes construction and the trades, trucking and delivery, restaurants, retail and e-commerce, real estate and rentals, healthcare, nonprofits, agencies and creators. There is also a general small-business setup for other businesses.
Can my CPA use it at tax time?
Yes. The reports are the ones a CPA works from: profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, plus the trial balance on Pro and Firm. Neo-Capital also prepares tax worksheets for your type of business, whether that is Schedule C, a 1065, 1120-S, 1120 or 990, with K-1s. It lists your 1099-NEC candidates and calculates depreciation with Section 179, bonus and MACRS. One click builds the Accountant package, a year-end ZIP file for your CPA. Neo-Capital prepares your tax information but does not file returns. You or your CPA file the return.
Can I send invoices and track what clients owe?
Yes, on every tier. You can build an invoice with your logo and send it by email or as a PDF. Email goes through your own mail server, or through our email service if you have Connected. You can set up recurring invoices and see what each customer owes. Payments are matched to the deposit in your bank feed, and bills you owe work the same way.
Can my customers pay me online?
Yes. The feature is called Get Paid, and it is included on every tier without a Connected subscription. Connect your own Stripe account, and each invoice gets a Pay online link to a pay page with your branding. Your customer pays by card, the money goes to your Stripe account, and the payment is recorded in your books with the fee split out. We charge a 1% fee per payment on top of Stripe's fees, and there is no monthly charge. Get Paid needs an internet connection because the pay page is hosted on our website.
Can I sync across devices or share the books with my team?
Yes, with Connected. Connected is an optional subscription for owners that costs $15 a month on Basic, $22 on Pro and $35 on Firm. It lets you open your books on any computer where you sign in, in a web browser and in the mobile app. It also adds Plaid bank feeds and our email sending, and lets you add users with a role: accountant, staff, field or viewer. The people you invite do not need their own subscription or license. Your books are encrypted on your computer before they are uploaded. Each computer with Desktop keeps its own full copy. If you cancel, your books stay on your computer.
Can my clients see their financials without touching the books?
Yes, on Firm. You can publish a read-only dashboard of a client's books to a private link, with an optional passcode, and send it to them. The dashboard shows revenue, profit, cash, expenses, receivables and trends, with your notes. Your client sees the numbers but cannot change the books, and you keep working in Neo-Capital.
Is Basic double-entry underneath?
Yes. Basic uses the same double-entry ledger as Pro, but it hides the accounting details. When you choose a category such as Office Supplies, Neo-Capital records the balanced debit and credit for you. You never have to work with debits and credits, but your books stay balanced, and your accountant can work with them directly.
Can I upgrade to Pro later without redoing anything?
Yes, and you do not need to move any data. Basic, Pro and Firm are the same program with the same ledger, and your license key decides which features are unlocked. Pro adds the accountant's tools: account registers and the general ledger, journal entries, the trial balance, closing the books, classes, inventory, purchase orders, job costing and sales tax nexus tracking. To upgrade, open the Upgrade page in the program and pay the difference in price. Enter your new key, and your books, history and categories are already there.
Which AI providers can I use?
You can add your own key from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI or Google (Gemini) to turn on the assistant in the program and receipt reading. The key is kept in your computer's keychain and is never stored on our servers. You can also connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, the Gemini CLI or any MCP client to the books on your computer, so it can read and work in them from its own window. Neo-Capital AI works without your own key. It is a paid add-on that starts at $19 a month and requires Connected.
Can I lock a year after I file it?
Yes, on Pro and Firm. Closing the books locks a year you have filed, and a monthly close locks a month you have reconciled. A checklist shows anything left to finish first. Locked periods cannot be edited, and every change is recorded in the audit trail. If you need to make a correction, you can unlock the period, fix it and close it again. That is recorded in the audit trail too.
What about Mac?
Yes. The Mac version is signed and notarized by Apple, so it installs like any other Mac app. Open the .dmg file and drag Neo-Capital to your Applications folder.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Email help@neocapital.app and we will process it. We do not ask why.
What happens to my license if you ever shut down?
It keeps working. Your license is checked on your computer, and the program does not check in with us on a schedule. It goes online only to activate a key, to confirm it again if you activated offline or move it to another computer, and for the online features you choose, such as Get Paid, support tickets and Connected. If Neo-Capital shut down, every activated copy would keep working and your books would stay on your computer.
Where do I report bugs?
Use Contact Support in the program's Help menu, or email help@neocapital.app. A person reads every ticket. When an error happens, you can also send it to us with one click. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. Our team reviews error reports and releases fixes in program updates.
